NOV 16 1983 .55 PAU-153 <br />requirements for the handicapped and if there is something <br />here that doesn't meet the code, it certainly was not <br />intentional. <br />Mr. Smith suggested that they ask the handicapped what <br />is needed, and in the meantime, he will park his special van <br />on an angle using two spaces, and if the Police want to <br />arrest him, they will have to find some way to carry him up <br />the stairs. <br />Chairman Bird suggested that Mrs. Rymer confer with the <br />County Attorney on the interpretation of the handicapped <br />laws as the Commission does want to help the handicapped and <br />if there are things, that need to be changed, and if it is <br />within the law, they will'be corrected. <br />CONSIDERATION OF HUTCHINSON ISLAND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />Attorney Brandenburg reported that at the meeting of <br />October 6th, the Hutchinson Island Resource Planning <br />Management Committee had adopted the plan. The Dept. of <br />Community Affairs has been going over it, and Dr. DeGrove's <br />recommendation is scheduled to be distributed on November <br />18th. There will be a meeting of the Cabinet aides on <br />Tuesday, November 22, and the Cabinet will consider the <br />recommendation on November 29th. The Attorney suggested <br />postponing this matter until after November 18th, so that <br />the Board will be aware of Mr. DeGrove's recommendation and <br />also suggested holding a special meeting on Monday, November <br />21, so that the Board can take some positive action and <br />convey it to the Cabinet on November 22nd. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Scurlock, the Board <br />unanimously postponed further consideration of <br />the Hutchinson Island Resource Management Plan <br />
