Commissioner Lyons stressed that the Jail Committee did <br />a great deal of research before they chose Frizzell <br />Architects, and he wants the liability established. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />authorized Attorney Brandenburg to express <br />our concerns as above and ask for a statement <br />from Frizzell indicating their position. <br />STEEL POLE RELOCATION - EXTENSION OF 8TH STREET <br />The Administrator reviewed the following memo and <br />attachment: <br />TO: The Honorable Members of-- DATE: December 5, 1983 FILE: <br />the Board of County Commissioners _ <br />SUBJECT: STEEL POLE RELOCATION <br />I <br />FROM: Michael Wright REFERENCES: <br />County Administrato <br />Attached is a City of Vero Beach memorandum detailing <br />the cost of the steel pole relocation necessary for the <br />extension of -8th Street at U.S.#1. The City has maintained <br />the position that the County should be responsible for relo- <br />cating the pole since the pole existed prior to the road <br />right-of-way being purchased. <br />In cases where the City erected poles in an existing <br />right-of-way and it became necessary for the poles to be <br />moved., the City assumed all costs. An example of this policy <br />is the pole relocations on 16th Street. The City also has <br />agreed to relocate the steel poles on 12th Street between <br />U.S.#1 and 6th Avenue when the street is widened. <br />I recommend the bill be paid and there are sufficient <br />funds in the project to absorb the expense. <br />:• <br />DEC 7 1983 oxx 55 PnE 56g <br />
