feeling that Mr. DeGrove is very strongly in favor of the <br />state helping themselves at the expense of the counties, and <br />he is perfectly willing to make an appearance at this <br />meeting, but believed that he might need some help from <br />staff. He further noted that it is quite likely that he <br />will have to go to Tallahassee in February or March on the <br />same matter, and he would like the Board's permission to <br />attend both hearings and have assistance from staff. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) approved out -of -county travel for <br />Commissioner Lyons as above and authorized <br />him to obtain assistance from staff. <br />REPORT ON "SAVE OUR COAST" MEETING AND RETROACTIVE <br />OUT -OF -COUNTY TRAVEL <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) approved retroactive out -of -county <br />travel for Commissioner Bird to attend a <br />meeting in regard to the "Save Our Coast" <br />Program in Tallahassee on January 16-17, <br />1984. <br />Commissioner Bird reported that what,has happened is <br />that our projects have gotten ranked so high that we are <br />ahead of other,counties who have made more preparations than <br />we have. We, therefore, are pushing hard to get appraisals <br />done and work with property owners to obtain options.
