1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />MN <br />TAY, APRIL 7th 1931. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at <br />the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, April 7th 19319 with the <br />following members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J.D.Yongue; J.W* <br />7 Bruce; J.J.P.Hamilton and Eli u. Oalker. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and <br />Clark S. Rice, Sheriff. <br />The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approvedp with corrections. <br />Representatives of the Hawthorne Hoofing Company appeared before the Board re- <br />garding bill they held against Pauly Jail Building Company on account of sub -contract <br />with them for roofing the jail building. <br />E. M. Gollnick appeared before the board and offered to purchase tax sale certi- <br />ficate covering Lots 3 & 6 (except South 10 acres of Lot 6) Sec. 7 Tp. 33 S.R.40 East <br />including taxes for the years 1925 to 1930 inclusive for the sum of 0196.04. It was <br />ordered that recommendation be made that this amount be accepted and the certificate <br />sold to him for this amount. <br />Claude Olmstead appeared before the Board regarding road from State Road #4 to <br />Kings Highway at the power house West of voabasso. <br />Geo T. Tippin appeared before the Board respecting an appropriation for the <br />District Fair recently held in Vero Beach. It was moved, seconded and carried that <br />no appropriation be made for the Fair this year. <br />E. G. Thatcher appeared requesting appropriation for exhibit at the Canadian <br />National Exposition for the year 1931. It ma.s moved, seconded and carried that no <br />appropriation be made for this project this year. <br />A Representative of the lelorida Agricultural `1'arriff association appeared re- <br />questing an appropriation to assist in maintaining the present tarriff on Florida truck <br />produce. Upon advice of County attorney it would be unlawful to make such expenditure, <br />it was moved, -seconded and carried that no appropriation be made. <br />Mrs Ella Goodrich appeared before the Board requesting repairs be made on Lewis <br />Street, Roseland, between Reba,stian and Berry Ave. The request was taken under con- <br />sideration. <br />Wm, C. Graves appeared before the Board regarding the balance the balance of funds <br />due from Yarmers Bank & Trust Co. , <br />of Special R & B Dist #4 (Bond fund)/which closed its doors January 27th 1927, and <br />due consideration, it was moved, seconded and carried .that the sum of 05,000.00 be <br />accepted and the balance remaining due be settled by accepting notes formerly held by <br />the County, same to be endorsed without recourse, to this Board, and the Chairman, <br />Clerk and County Attorney be designated as a Committee to select the notes for the <br />balance. <br />It was ordered, Alfred Wessman, Fellsmere, be placed on the pauper list to receive <br />$15.00 per month. <br />It was ordered that the Mothers' Pension checkheretofore made to Mrs. woods of <br />Wabasso, be forwarded to the Children's Home 6ociety of Jacksonville, to care for bars. <br />,>A-8 <br />> children who are now in that institution. <br />A <br />State Game and r'i sh Department representatives having <br />A communication from the <br />advised that the Department would open up and permit the .hoard of County Commissioners <br />to re -designate the line dividing fresh and salt waters of the Sebastian River (the <br />line heretofore designated being the F.E.C.Ry bridge), and petitions having been filed <br />both for and against any change, and the Board having considered, it was moved by <br />Ii <br />Commissioner Yongue and seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, that the line dividing fresh <br />I� <br />and salt water in the Sebastian Diver remain as at p_resentildesignated, same being the <br />A II I SII <br />/I <br />
