MAR 7 1994 BOOK 5 c9I"F:'S <br />Commissioner Bird asked for a little more explanation <br />4 <br />as to why this ran overtime. <br />Public Works Director Davis felt the basic reason is <br />that the County elected to do certain work in --house to <br />reduce cost, such as excavation work, pouring concrete <br />slabs, etc. It was done at a very wet time of the year, and <br />we had to dewater the site. We were ready for the tanks, <br />however, but the tank delivery. -was late, and it was <br />basically a problem of getting material on the site at the <br />right time. <br />Administrator Wright agreed there were a number of <br />problems. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />approved final acceptance of the work and <br />substantial completion date of Feb. 7, 1984 <br />for Pieco Palm Beach, Inc., and F. V. Casano <br />Electrical Contractor, Inc.; authorized the <br />Chairman to sign Change Orders No. -9316-1 and <br />8316-2 extending the contract time of comple- <br />tion by 127 days; approved final payments of <br />$27,433.55 and $1,250 to Pieco Palm Beach and <br />F._V. Casano Elec. Contractor respectively, <br />instructing Finance to hold the checks until <br />receipt of as -built drawings and final parts <br />lists; and accepted contract Release -of -Lien <br />affidavits and Final Payments forms. <br />18 <br />
