'Orr,/6 <br />Traffic Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Traffic Signal - South Gifford Road <br />(41st Street) at 43rd'Avenue <br />REFERENCES: <br />The subject study was conducted during January, 1983 as requested by the <br />Transportation Planning Committee and readdressed during the aforementioned <br />meeting of February 14, 1984. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS. <br />1. Approach Traffic Volume: <br />Summarized in the table below are the existing traffic volumes obtained <br />for each approach to the intersection during the week of January 24-28. <br />1983. Accident History: <br />Collision diagrams illustrating the frequency, type and pattern of traffic <br />accidents occurring at the subject intersection for the years 1981, 1982 <br />and 1983 are attached. The predominant -collision pattern is the right-angle <br />type resulting from failure to yield the right-of-way. <br />The accident frequency rate has fluctuated between 1981 and 1983. During <br />1981, the rate was relatively high (3.84 accidents per million entering <br />83 <br />MAR 7 194 5 6 gar.. <br />
