-4 <br />Alternatives and Analysis <br />This is an annual bid, effective April 1, 1984 through March 31, 1985; and the <br />County reserves the right to order any quantity of any item throughout the year. <br />Although Universal Signs (McCain Sales), Ft. Pierce, bid slightly lower on <br />Item 1, Municipal Supply & Sign Co., Naples is the overall low bidder. <br />Traffic Engineering purchases.more of Item #2 - 12/ft Galvanized Post, than <br />any other item on the bid. <br />3. Recommendations and -Funding <br />It is recommended that IRC #196 be awarded to the overall low bidder, Municipal <br />Supply & Sign Co., Naples, F1. <br />Funds budgeted in Account #004-245-541-35-36.. <br />Commissioner Wodtke wondered if we would have received <br />a better bid if the bidders had been aware of how many of <br />these hardware items were purchased last year. Purchasing <br />Manager Goodrich explained that information for last year's <br />bids was available to anyone interested. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons , the Board <br />unanimously (4-0) awarded Bid #196 to the <br />low bidder, Municipal Supply & Sign Co., <br />Naples, Florida, for hardware for traffic <br />signs for the Traffic Engineering Department, <br />as recommended by Purchasing Manager Goodrich. <br />Chairman Scurlock noted that the Purchasing Manager is <br />working to some extent with the City on the concept of joint <br />purchases re the possibility of getting some sort of <br />discount on large orders. <br />APR 41984 <br />BOOK 56 PAGE 521 <br />
