H. Bid #197 - Traffic Signal Improvements <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 3/26/84: <br />TO: The Honorable Members of DATE: March 26, 19_84 FILE: <br />the Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: Michael Wright, County Administrator <br />James W. Davis, P.E., Public Works Directo <br />SUBJECT: IRC Bid #197: Traffic Signal <br />Improvements <br />FROM: Michael L. Orr,VV REFERENCES: <br />Traffic Engineer <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Bids were received March 23, 1984 at 10:00 am for IRC Bid #197 - <br />Traffic Signal Improvements at three intersections. <br />Five bids were submitted, one bid was received from Signal <br />Construction Company of Jupiter, Florida. <br />Specific signalization improvements to be performed by the <br />contractor are as follows: <br />1. 8th Street/Old Dixie Highway: <br />Furnish and install one concrete pole so in -house -personnel <br />can construct a traffic signal; <br />2. State Road 60/43rd Avenue: <br />Install major signal components furnished by the FDOT through <br />their signal equipment purchase program; <br />3. Old Dixie Highway/Highland Drive SE: <br />Furnish and install one concrete pole so in-house personnel <br />can construct an aerial flashing beacon. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The sole bidder was Signal Construction Company in the amount <br />of $19,601.00. This contractor is able to perform the contractual <br />work and has met all bid specifications. <br />RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING <br />It is recommended to accept the unit prices bid by Signal <br />Construction Company to implement planned signalization <br />improvements are the aforementioned three intersections. <br />Budgeted funds are available in Account 004-245-541-66.44 for <br />the work at the two Old Dixie Highway locations (costing $4647.00). <br />Transportation Improvement Program funds are reserved in the <br />second quarter of 1984 for improvements at State Road 60 and <br />43rd Avenue (costing $14,954.00) <br />13 <br />e_ .:APR_... 4.1984 <br />BOOK 56 PAGE 5?3 <br />I <br />
