Hamilton B) Legal Description/ <br />Franchise Administr for <br />Utility Services Location Mar <br />C) Insurance Certificate <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Realcor-Vero Beach Associates is the partnership which will furnish <br />water and wastewater services to Countryside, a single family develop- <br />ment located north of Glendale Road, east of I-95, south of State Road <br />60 and west of State Road 609 (Exhibit "B"). <br />Realcor-Vero Beach Associates has an agreement to purchase their <br />water from Village Green, a County franchise (Exhibit "A"). It is <br />the opinion of the County Attorney that Village Green will not be <br />required to expand.their franchise area to be a temporary water <br />source (Exhibit "1"). - <br />A rate schedule for this franchise will be determined at a later date <br />during a public hearing held for that purpose. <br />Realcor-Vero Beach Associates has submitted a certificate of liability <br />insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 per category as required (Exh-ibit <br />nC11) <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this application to establish a franchise <br />for Realcor-Vero Beach Associates. <br />Utilities Director Terry Pinto explained that this <br />franchise is for a development on SR -60 which we are <br />proposing to service with County water. He pointed out that <br />the franchise states that if there is not County water, they <br />could not supply themselves, but it would authorize them to <br />obtain water from the Village Green water system. The <br />franchise provides for immediate disconnection upon demand <br />by the County when water becomes available from the County. <br />He assured Commissioner Scurlock that there is a 6% <br />franchise fee. <br />Director Pinto commented that the franchise does not <br />address the subject of wastewater, and though he has not <br />44 <br />
