He felt the point is that we are <br />,.riot operating a sewer plant. <br />Administrator Wright pointed out that we are a collec- <br />tion system, and. Chairman Scurlock did not see why the <br />existing rate payer should pay the freight for someone <br />reserving capacity. He noted that the rate payer benefits <br />by having the base facility charge, and his commitment is <br />much more to the guy who is here than the one who is going <br />to be. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, to adopt Ordinance 84-18 <br />amending Sec. 24-31 through Sec. 24-67 of the Code <br />of Laws and Ordinances of Indian River County, re <br />connections to the waterworks system; sewer connec- <br />tions, etc., with wording changes in Sections 7 and <br />37 as recommended by Attorney Brandenburg; the Ordi- <br />nance to be effective May 1st or upon notice of <br />receipt from the Secretary of State, whichever is <br />later. <br />Director Pinto announced that the customer charge will <br />be left as advertised - $1.82 for water and $1.84 for sewer. <br />Commissioner Wodtke inquired about the increase on fire <br />hydrants, and Administrator Wright stated that there was no <br />problem on this with the fire department. <br />23 <br />r: AIR 4 1984 <br />BOOK 56 PAuE ���� <br />
