The subject <br />property is surrounded on three sides by agriculture, and <br />the fourth side is the Aerodrome Subdivision, which has <br />single family homes on one acre of property. The area to <br />the south seems mostly undeveloped and does not seem to be <br />used for agricultural purposes and the area to the east <br />appears to be pasture. <br />Commissioner Wodtke explained that the airport sub- <br />division -was originally zoned agricultural because that was <br />the only zoning that would allow an airport. It is a <br />residential area with a pri'iate airport and a private park <br />which is not open to the general public. <br />Robert Keating, Director bf,Planning & Development, <br />explained that staff looks at several things in regard to <br />q <br />the Comp Plan, and staff did not find anything unique to <br />warrant a redesignation in this case; it is the philosophy <br />of the Comp Plan that extensive development or development <br />ofa certain density should not proceed any further out in <br />that area. <br />Commissioner Wodtke noted that the Comp Plan makes the <br />entire Aerodrome non -conforming, but Mr. Shearer advised <br />that it is non -conforming under the present zoning. <br />Commissioner Wodtke recalled that for the last 3 or 4 years, <br />there has been considerable desire on behalf of the <br />Aerodrome residents to try to get gravel roads surfaced and <br />paved. He asked if any consideration had been given to <br />RR -1, and Mr. Shearer did not believe that had been <br />discussed. <br />Vice Chairman Lyons opened the Public Hearing and asked <br />if anyone wished to be heard in this matter. <br />David Cairns, attorney representing the Aerodrome <br />Property Owners Association, advised that he is not here <br />today to express either approval of or objection to the <br />21 <br />
