The parcel on the lower part of the <br />subdivision will become the property of the county, and we <br />will probably dispose of it to the highest bidder for a <br />homesite. The Attorney reported that he has obtained the <br />consent of all the residents, and he would like theBoard to <br />authorize his office to prepare deeds for signature by all <br />these people and authorize the Chairman to sign quit claim <br />deeds for two parcels. <br />Chairman Scurlock inquired about wells in this area <br />which we had discussed at earlier meetings, and Attorney <br />Brandenburg noted those were on the other triangular parcel <br />and this was resolved in the past. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) authorized the legal staff to prepare <br />quit claim deeds for signature of the home- <br />owners and for the signature of the Chairman <br />as recommended by the Attorney. <br />Jeannette Lier wished to point out that this property <br />is incorrectly referred to as Orchid Island; the subject <br />subdivision actually is Orchid Isle Subdivision located on <br />Pine Island. <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY FAIR CHARTER <br />Attorney Brandenburg explained that the Board previ- <br />ously was approached by the Fire Fighters Association in <br />regard to establishing a County Fair Charter. This is <br />governed by Chapter 616 of the Florida Statutes, and what it <br />does is gives the County Fair the approval of the state and <br />sets it up as a separate corporation.
