Administrator Wright noted that some counties have full <br />time lobbyists, and Attorney Brandenburg confirmed that Palm <br />Beach County hires two law firms as full time lobbyists for <br />each session. This is what we are up against. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, Chairman Scurlock voting <br />in opposition, the Board by a 3 to 1 vote <br />accepted the Attorney's recommendation in re- <br />gard to retaining representatives in Tallahassee <br />and established a budget not to exceed $5,000. <br />Commissioner Wodtke stated that he would have liked to <br />vote for the representation but not the amount of the <br />budget, and some discussion ensued as to reconsidering the <br />Motion. <br />Attorney Brandenburg suggested that he just not approve <br />any budget beyond $2,500 until he came back to the Commis- <br />sion for approval, and the Board agreed. <br />DISCUSSION RE POLICY FOR WATER/SEWER CONNECTION IN VISTA <br />ROYALE AREA <br />Commissioner Lyons stated that he would like to know <br />exactly what our policy is so that if someone asks and wants <br />to start a business in the Vista Royale area and needs water <br />and sewer, he can give them a definitive answer. <br />Utilities Director Pinto reported that our policy for <br />water and wastewater connections throughout the County is <br />that where there is capacity available and where the <br />connection can be made, it is av4i Table for anyone. Water <br />is available to the north of Oslo Road on both sides of <br />U.S.I; it is just a matter of going through the proper <br />procedures.
