He felt that the end result will be a <br />facility that can be used with pride for a great many years. <br />Administrator Wright confirmed that court facility fees <br />could be used to pay for the furnishings. <br />Mr. Calmes advised that they have designed the air <br />conditioning system to allow the greatest sound reduction <br />possible from the blowers. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bird, that the <br />Board approve the request to advertise for <br />bids for construction; instruct staff to <br />come back to the Board with a plan for the <br />additional parking needed for the fourth <br />courtroom; and to include a funding report. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Wodtke felt that he <br />could not vote to spend this much money. He understood that <br />the County is going to completely demolish the courtroom and <br />somebody else will just come in and build. He felt that <br />$285,000was undoubtedly too much money for a 40 x 70 size <br />room and that we could build a brand new building for that <br />price. If that is what the bids are going to be, it is way <br />out of line. <br />Commissioner Lyons just wanted to put the job out for <br />bids and see what kind of prices we get. He felt that we <br />would not be committed to buying anything yet. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />The Motion was voted on and carried by a <br />vote of 3-1, with Commissioner Wodtke <br />dissenting. <br />17 <br />MAY 2 3 1984 BOOK 57 FAcF 134 <br />
