Project #3 - Construction of waterline from 58th Ave. & . - <br />SR -60 west to approx. 94th Ave. <br />Administrator Wright explained that the waterline <br />project was split into two phases for expediency and that <br />Boyce was the low bidder on each. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bird, that the Board <br />award Contract #3 of Project U84-1 to Boyce <br />Company of St. Petersburg, Florida, for the <br />waterline distribution system in the amount of <br />$693,405; contingent upon prior approval by <br />Farmers Home Administration; and contingent upon <br />monies from the assessment roll. <br />Under discussion, it was noted that the tentative <br />timetable for this line being installed is February, 1985. <br />Director Pinto noted there was a 6 -month construction <br />schedule included in the bid package. However, the <br />construction of the tank will take one year. <br />Commissioner Bird asked about future capacity for areas <br />north and south of the corridor, and Director Pinto advised <br />that future plans call for bringing an additional line down <br />King's Highway (58th Avenue), joining up with this line and <br />running up the opposite side of SR -60. The initial line <br />coming in will service both sides of SR -60. Commissioner <br />Bird questioned how large an area the County is <br />contemplating providing service for and Director Pinto felt <br />that the additional line would be needed in 7-8 years. The <br />initial line is oversized and will run from Oslo Road to <br />43rd Avenue to 8th Street, to 58th Avenue, to SR -60, and <br />west to approximately 94th Avenue. <br />Director Pinto explained that we have around $1.9 <br />million in contributions to the line, which represents some <br />28 <br />JUN 13 41984 BOOK 57 FA, iE 4%0 <br />
