Wednesday, August 22, 1984 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, met in Regular Session at the County <br />Commission Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, <br />on Wednesday, August 22, 1984, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present <br />were Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Patrick B. Lyons, Vice <br />Chairman; Richard N. Bird; Margaret C. Bowman; and William <br />C. Wodtke, Jr. Also present were Michael J. Wright, County <br />Administrator; Gary Brandenburg, Attorney to the Board of <br />County Commissioners; L.S. "Tommy" Thomas, Intergovernmental <br />Relations Director; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order, and <br />Commissioner Lyons led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Chairman Scurlock requested that an item be added to <br />the agenda under South County Fire District since they have <br />had a number of absences by one particular member, and they <br />do have a very qualified candidate. <br />OMB Director Barton reported that he had two additions <br />and one deletion. He requested that Item 11B - a discussion <br />regarding Vero Highlands Street Lighting District - be <br />tabled to the meeting of September 5th. He continued that <br />it is necessary to set a date so he can advertise the final <br />budget hearing, and he, therefore, would like that item <br />added to today's agenda. Finally, he wished to add under <br />Commissioner Bowman's items, an item in regard to spending <br />AUG 2 2 1984 BOOK Fay <br />
