John Keyes, 14029 82nd Court, Roseland, informed the <br />Board that he owns the first 500' of Lot 2, which is the <br />adjacent strip on the west side of the subject property, and <br />he is also speaking for two other gentlemen who own <br />adjoining property - Mr. McAllister, who already has a <br />residence on his property, and the gentlemen who bought Mrs. <br />Speck's property, the rest of Lot 2 bordering on the river, <br />and intends to build a substantial residence there. Mr. <br />Keyes informed the Board that -he intends to build on one <br />acre of his property and sell the other acre to someone who <br />would agree to build a substantial residence also. He <br />emphasized that they all object to having their front yards <br />facing commercial structures. <br />Attorney Richard Bogosian came before the Board <br />representing the applicant, Donald Williamson. He <br />appreciated Mr. Keyes objection, but did not think it is <br />proper for him to talk for people who are not present. <br />Attorney Bogosian stated that his client feels the proposed <br />rezoning is a proper zoning because this property is <br />included in the MED node recommended by the Planning <br />Department. In addition, they feel it would be extremely <br />difficult to develop into residential because of the sewer <br />plant located in the northwest corner. Apparently Mr. Keyes <br />hasn't built yet, and Attorney Bogosian noted that possibly - <br />his property could be included in the MED. He believed the <br />subject property should be rezoned considering the unique <br />circumstances. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the location and size of <br />Mr. Keyes property and access to same, and Mr. Keyes <br />explained that his property is the first 500' starting from <br />Bay Street going back to the river. He stressed that homes <br />are already built in this area; it is established as <br />residential property; and the man who just bought the <br />property on the river intends to build a home there.
