Scurlock Jr. <br />Chairman <br />Aug. 16, 1984. <br />Assistant County Attorney Jim Wilson reported that the <br />Legislature has provided the authority for the Board to <br />effect such a ban and the statute went into effect in July. <br />He continued that he has added a section allowing horns and <br />whistles to be sounded in emergency situations and provided <br />penalties, etc. This ban would only be in effect on guarded <br />crossings. <br />Commissioner Bird asked if this would be applicable <br />only in the unincorporated area of the county, and Attorney <br />Wilson felt it would be applicable in all areas unless a <br />municipality should choose to exclude itself. <br />Commissioner Lyons noted that the City of Sebastian has <br />asked to be excluded. <br />72 <br />_I <br />
