He did not see why we couldn't approach <br />the railroad company and ask for their cooperation in <br />limiting the horn blowing at crossings during the hours <br />suggested in the ordinance. <br />Commissioner Bird suggested that this is especially <br />needed in the south county area near Vista -Royale, but the <br />audience disagreed loudly and insisted it is a problem from <br />one end of the county to the other. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />Commissioners Bird, Bowman, and Chairman <br />Scurlock voted in opposition, and the Motion <br />to adopt the ordinance failed 1 to 3 <br />The Chairman called for a short recess. The Board re- <br />convened with the same members present and continued to <br />discuss the problem of train whistles and the idea of <br />advising the railroad of the strong feelings that exist in <br />the community and asking for their cooperation in abating <br />the noise.
