Commissioner Lyons reported that he had interviewed Dr. <br />Dirkash and he has all around experience including police <br />surgeon and emergency room. He felt we have a big problem <br />dealing with the emergency room treatment of these people. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that Dr. Dirkash has only lived <br />here about a year, but maybe that is a plus. He expressed <br />his interest in Warren Winchester who has experience with <br />planning and managing major facilities for treating alcohol- <br />ism and drug abuse. Commissioner Bird also suggested Edmund <br />Cannon. <br />The Board considered Dr. Stephen Dirkash, Warren <br />Winchester, Edmund Cannon, Dr. John Ma, and Suzanne Whiddon, <br />who had been recommended by Commissioner Wodtke. <br />Upon polling the members of the Board, it was <br />determined that Commissioner Lyons, Commissioner Bird and <br />Chairman Scurlock favored Dr. Dirkash and Warren Winchester, <br />and Commissioners Lyons, Bird, Bowman and Chairman Scurlock <br />voted for Dr. Ma. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) appointed the following to the Alcohol, <br />Drug Abuse and Mental Health Planning Council: <br />3 appointees: Warren Winchester <br />Stephen Dirkash, M.D. <br />John Y. Ma, M.D. <br />Rep. of School System: Dr. Harry Hurst <br />County Commissioner: Com.
