Administrator Wright asked the Board to keep in mind <br />that the grant deadline for completing the work at Ambersand <br />is December 1st. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, that the <br />Board accept staff's recommendation and <br />award the bid to the bidder that apparently <br />I <br />came closest to meeting specifications, Haeger's <br />Native Plant Nursery, and waive the $698 public <br />construction bond; in order to meet the deadline <br />for sharing in State funding. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked if there was any way we could <br />hold the bid open to allow Mr. Davison to negotiate, but <br />Administrator Wright hoped the Commission would not do that <br />because it would set a precedent whereby the County would be <br />swamped with requests from bidders to renegotiate. <br />Commissioner Lyons thought that if a bidder has a <br />question about the specifications, the answers are certainly <br />available, and he did not understand why people do not ask <br />questions. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
