OCT 17 1994 BOOK 58 F - A 'U F 682 <br />II. SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />A. Design and Permit Phase <br />Design five and one-half miles of sanitary sewer force main and four <br />pump stations and develop construction plans and bidding documents. <br />The construction plans will be drawn on County supplied aerials. The <br />force main will run along State Road 60 thence to a county site one <br />and one-half miles south of State Road 60. The force main designed <br />as part of this project will reach the wastewater treatment plant <br />site via the 90th Avenue corridor. <br />-Consultant will assist County in its effort to secure permits from <br />the appropriate regulatory authorities having jurisdiction over the <br />proposed improvements. <br />Consultants will assist County in obtaining station and force main <br />easements by providing legal descriptions to County if easements are <br />within existing rights-of-way or along quarter section lines. <br />County will provide full cooperation to Consultants with all aspects <br />of the assignment and shall be responsible for all permit and filing <br />fees of the regulatory agencies. <br />B. Services During Bidding Phase <br />Assist County in obtaining bids for each separate prime contract for <br />construction or equipment; <br />Consult with and advise County as to the acceptability of <br />subcontractors and other persons and organizations proposed by the <br />prime contractor for those portions of the work as to which such -_ <br />acceptability is required by the Contract Documents; <br />Consult with and advise County as to the acceptability of substitute <br />materials and equipment proposed by the Contractor when substitution <br />is permitted by the Contract Documents; <br />Assist County in evaluating bids or proposals and in assembling and <br />awarding contracts; and <br />During the construction phase, Consultant shall make periodic visits <br />to the site to observe as an experienced and qualified design <br />professional the progress and quality of the executed work and .to <br />determine in general if the work is proceeding in accordance with the <br />Contract Documents; he shall not be required to make exhaustive or <br />continuous on-site inspections to check the quality or quantity of <br />work; he shall not be responsible for the means, methods, techniques, <br />sequences or procedures of; construction selected by the Contractor or <br />the safety precautions and programs incident to the work of <br />Contractor. His efforts w4,11 be directed toward providing assurance <br />for Owner that the complete Project will conform to the Contract <br />Documents, but. he shall not be responsible for the failure of the <br />Contractor to perform the construction work in accordance with the <br />Contract Documents. During such visits and on the basis of his <br />on-site observations he shall keep Owner informed of the progress of <br />the work, shall endeavor to guard Owner against defects and <br />deficiencies in the work of Contractor.and may disapprove or reject <br />work as failing to conform to the Contract Documents. <br />C. Resident Project Representative <br />Provide a Resident Project Representative for the force main work. <br />The duties of the Resident Project Representative shall be per <br />Exhibit "A" of the Agreement for Professional Services. The services <br />of the Resident Project Representative are intended for the <br />construction contract time of the force main contract.
