Bond <br />247 <br />50 <br />150 <br />00. <br />Commissioner Wodtke raised a question as to wood pilings <br />instead of concrete, and Intergovernmental Relations Director <br />Thomas reported that in the last few years, the preservative used <br />on wood pilings has been greatly improved, and even the Coast <br />Guard has gone back to using them. The disadvantage of concrete <br />pilings is that they will crack when they are hit and then the <br />salt water gets to the reinforcing steel. Wood actually is not <br />that much cheaper. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />16TH ST.
