guard rail because we are not getting any closer to the canal, or <br />at least decrease the guard rail work. <br />Commissioner Bird asked if this is an extension of the over- <br />all project, and Director Davis stated that no time extension is <br />requested by this change order. The work is to be completed <br />before December 16th, and the signalization changes are in <br />already. <br />Commissioner Wodtke wished to be sure this work is not some- <br />thing we could get done for a lot less than by adding it to the <br />contract. <br />Director Davis assured him that the increases that <br />contractor has asked for are reasonable. <br />Commissioner Wodtke wished to know if there was additional <br />engineering cost, and Mr. Davis stated there was none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />approved Change Order 4, 16th Street Traffic <br />Improvements, with the understanding that it <br />is not to exceed the price of the estimate; <br />that Director Davis will determine whether or <br />not we need all of the guard rail and delete <br />what is not needed; and that we pay the re- <br />tainage based on the approval of the Public <br />Works Director. <br />OCT 17 1984 <br />53 <br />BOOK 58 F" GE 6-S9 <br />I <br />
