it would be clear that it represents the Board's state of mind <br />collectively. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously <br />adopted the letter dated October 5, 1984, <br />written by Commissioner Lyons to States Attor- <br />ney Stone as indicating the Board's official <br />position with regard to the Medical Examiner. <br />Commissioner Lyons noted that we wanted three things - a <br />full time Medical Examiner; a Medical Examiner who was a forensic <br />pathologist; and one who would be located at the college. He <br />believed that is what we agreed on previously, and States <br />Attorney Stone would like a statement from the Board indicating <br />that still is our position. Commissioner Lyons suggested that <br />the Board direct the Attorney to draft a Resolution indicating <br />that is our position. <br />Attorney Brandenburg felt these points could be included in <br />a covering letter with Commissioner Lyons' letter of October 5th. <br />Chairman Scurlock stated that he would go one step further <br />and state that under no conditions is Dr. Walker acceptable. <br />Commissioner Bowman noted that she attended a Medical Work- <br />shop recently, and it was her understanding that there are fewer <br />than ten medical pathologists in the state; therefore, we may be <br />going out on a limb. <br />Commissioner Lyons realized that, but felt we could be very <br />happy with the two doctors whom Dr. Walker just fired. He stated <br />that he would be happy to include the statement that we don't <br />want Dr. Walker under any circumstances. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />instructed the Attorney to include the points <br />65 <br />OCT 17 1984 BOOK 58 Pt ,F 701 <br />
