individuals to take their grass clippings to the landfill <br />rather than the nearest transfer site. <br />Commissioner Lyons opened the public hearing and asked if <br />anyone wished to be heard. There were none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (4-0) <br />closed the Public Hearing. <br />The Board debated the definition of "garbage", "rubbish" and <br />"household rubbish", and Attorney Paull recommended that the <br />first sentence on Page 2 of the Ordinance should read "any item <br />defined in Section 13-9 as a bulky item, industrial waste, trash, <br />or rubbish, other than rubbish ordinary to household keeping, <br />into a County transfer station." <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) adopted Ordinance 84-75, relating to solid <br />waste disposal at transfer station sites, with <br />the amendment recommended by Attorney Paull. <br />Commissioner Bowman felt we badly need a bulk refuse area <br />somewhere in the north county, but Administrator Wright did not <br />feel that economically we are ready to tackle a new landfill at <br />this time. He explained that they are in the process of a rate <br />study for the sanitary landfill which will include the transfer <br />stations and possibly a different funding formula.
