N 0 V 8 1994 Boos 58 ikirKl <br />Commissioner Bird asked if the repairs are intended to <br />increase the quality of the water, and Director Pinto felt that <br />the repairs being made now were to improve the quality of the <br />water, not especially the taste of the water, but the purity and <br />safety of the water. <br />Attorney Collins outlined the presentation of Breezy Village <br />Home Owners' Association and explained that the residents in the <br />audience have authorized officers Eric Pollard and Sylvester <br />Strang to speak in their behalf. <br />Attorney Collins asked those in attendance who opposed the <br />rate increases to raise their hands, and approximately 138 people <br />responded. Approximately 75% of these indicated they would <br />increase their water consumption if the quality of the water is <br />improved. <br />Attorney Henderson objected to the two officers of the BVHA <br />speaking again at this meeting because they did speak at the May <br />meeting. <br />Attorney Collins believed that what the two officers would <br />say is new evidence and pointed out that today's meeting is a <br />continuation of the public hearing held in May. He noted that <br />the officers' testimony at that meeting has been made a part of <br />the record. <br />Attorney Brandenburg swore in Eric Pollard representing the <br />Breezy Village Home owners' Association. <br />Mr. Pollard noted that he worked for GM foraover 30 years <br />and that budgets and procurements were part of his daily routine. <br />After retirement in 1974 he joined the Public Works Dept. of St. <br />Clair County, Michigan. He advised that he did not enter this <br />rate case without some knowledge of financial exhibits, and felt <br />there is no doubt that this rate case has caused considerable <br />expense to everyone involved. He felt the blame for these <br />exorbitant costs must be placed where it belongs -- squarely on <br />the shoulders of the Utility company, and primarily on the <br />shoulders of Mr. Hunsberger. <br />Since September, 1983 there have <br />18 <br />
