The County Commission should be assured <br />that this year's fair is progressing better than usual, and <br />that the Firefighters' Association and County are working <br />hand-in-hand in enhancing an annual event that we have all <br />been proud of in the past. <br />The Board of Directors, during their meeting, asked the County <br />for several small items to aid in making this year's fair a <br />more complete event for the residents of our county. They are <br />as follows: <br />1. Ask the County Commission's help in placing three <br />flagpoles at the fairgrounds' site. <br />2. Ask the County Commission to supply an Indian River <br />County flag to be flown next to the State of Florida and <br />United States of America flags at the entrance to the <br />fair. <br />3. Ask the County Commission to close the dump site one <br />week prior to and during the fair itself. <br />4. Request permission from the County to paint the <br />cement at the dumpster sight a dark green color. <br />5. Request the County Commission explore placing fill <br />near the entertainment area to provide a raised seating <br />arrangement. <br />6. The Indian River County Fair Association, Inc. would <br />like to sponsor an evening prior to the fair's official <br />opening to show appreciation to the Firefighters' Assoc. <br />and County employees who participated in this year's fair <br />production. <br />7. The Association would like to ask the County to <br />explore the possibility of contracting with Dickerson, <br />under our standard County asphalt contract, to asphalt an <br />area of approximately 40 feet by 40 feet at the main <br />entrance to the fairgrounds prior to the opening of this <br />year's fair. <br />8. The Fair Assoc. would request the help of the Indian <br />River County Engineering Dept. and Sheriff's Dept. in <br />laying out an adequate parking lot and traffic flow in <br />and out of the fairgrounds' site. <br />9.
