BOOK 59 PA;F. 148 <br />Intergovernmental Relations Director Thomas reported that <br />Don Finney of Public Works has designed a County flag. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked if it is necessary to close the <br />dump site the whole week prior to the fair, and Mr. Thomas <br />explained that Deggeller Amusements Co. would like to have it <br />closed ahead of time so they can paint the back of the dumpster <br />to make it more attractive. <br />The Board discussed request #5 in regard to placing fill to <br />provide a raised seating arrangement. It was noted they are <br />trying for an amphitheater type arrangement. It was generally <br />felt this might be premature and that this item could be deleted <br />at this time. <br />Commissioner Bird noted. that Deggeller has indicated he would <br />be willing to bring in a certain number of his rides on Thursday <br />and have them available that night free to County employees as <br />thanks for the work they have done in making the fairgrounds a <br />reality, and he will work with the Administrator on this. <br />Commissioner Bird next informed the Board that Deggeller has <br />shown a willingness to pay for a 40' x 40' paving at the entrance <br />to the fairgrounds if we can contract with Dickerson, and the <br />Administrator stated that all we would do is prepare the base. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that as.in the past, the Sheriff <br />will --try to utilize as many people on duty as_possible to provide <br />some additional security with people on the payroll. He believed <br />the Firefighters will need to hire some additional security, and <br />there may be some donated services by those off duty. <br />Commissioner Bowman asked where the main gate will be, and <br />was informed that it will be just to the north of the dump <br />station around some pines. <br />archway. <br />Deggeller will donate a temporary <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />70 <br />
