"Son Dean <br />FROM: General Servi es <br />Director <br />REFERENCES: <br />The Board of County Commissioners has requested staff to investigate <br />the availability of space in close proximity of the Courthouse to <br />expand County Operations. Based on this <br />study, staff felt that a minimum length of planning time should be ten <br />(10) years or twice the anticipated space needs for 1980. <br />Using the above anticipated space requirements as a base, all available <br />property in the downtown area, within reasonable distance from the <br />courthouse, was located on the attached map and labeled by parcels for <br />identification purposes. The owner and assessed property value was <br />ascertained by the Indian River County Property Appraiser's Office. An <br />attempt.was made to locate each owner and determine if their property <br />was for sale or rent. Schedule I outlines the results of this <br />investigation. <br />SCHEDULE I <br />Parcel A Owner is Robert Jackson. This is one lot measuring <br />50'X125' and has an attorney's office building located on it with 2650 <br />square feet. Mr. Jackson was contacted and advised he did not <br />especially want to sell but would be willing to negotiate should the <br />County decide to buy.
