NACo Legislative Conference <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />approved out -of -State travel for Board <br />members and staff to attend the NACo Legislative <br />Conference to be held in Washington, D.C. during <br />March 2-5, 1985. <br />WATER RESOURCES CONTRACT WITH THE UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL <br />SURVEY <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 12/10/84: <br />TO: The Honorable Members <br />of the Board of County <br />Commissioners <br />DATE: December 10, 1984 FELE: <br />WATER RESOURCES CONTRACT <br />SUBJECT: WITH USGS <br />FROM:Robert M. Keating, AICP REFERENCES: Water Res. <br />Planning & Development Director DIS:RMK <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at its <br />regular meeting on December 19, 1984. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Two years ago, Indian River County entered into a three year <br />contract with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) to <br />conduct a water resources study of the County. This project <br />has proceeded on schedule with field data having already been <br />collected and data analysis currently being undertaken. Since <br />the project was initiated, the USGS has worked closely with the <br />County staff and provided the staff with useful data and <br />information derived from its field studies. <br />Recently, the USGS sent a copy of the joint funding agreement <br />for execution by the County. This agreement covers the period <br />from October 1, 1984 to September 30, 1985. Prior to receipt <br />of this agreement, the County had paid its share of the project <br />cost; these funds were budgeted for the current fiscal year <br />under account number 102-110-537-33.49.
