Craver <br />Staff Planner <br />- <br />� <br />ed!5)p <br />TECHNICAL REVIEW COMMITTEE <br />STATUS REPORT <br />REFERENCES: <br />Tech.Rev.Com.Rept <br />DIS:KAREN <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />regular meeting of January 16, 1985. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS.: <br />At its June 6, 1984 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners <br />unanimously voted to reinstitute the Technical Review Committee <br />(TRC) form of site plan review. The committee, comprised of <br />staff representatives from various County divisions, was rees- <br />tablished in an effort to address the development community's <br />concerns regarding excessive site plan review time. To date, <br />the process has been in effect for approximately six months, at <br />which time the Planning Department was requested to present an <br />update/evaluation of the TRC system. <br />At the weekly Technical Reviei <br />representatives present comments <br />distributed one week prior to the <br />transmitted to the applicant in <br />letter. The letter also includes <br />and Zoning Commission meetings an( <br />must be submitted for inclusion of <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Committee meetings, staff <br />on the subject site plans, <br />meeting, and all comments are <br />the form of a discrepancy <br />the dates of future Planning <br />dates by which revised plans <br />the meeting agendas. <br />Prior to the reorganization of the Technical Review Committee, <br />the site plan process averaged eight weeks from the time of <br />submittal of a complete application to Planning and Zoning <br />Commission approval of the project. The most time consuming <br />portion of the process was staff review. Under the current TRC <br />procedures, staff review time is approximately 2 weeks, and the <br />overall approval process is generally completed in 4 weeks. <br />Since the first TRC meeting on July 10th, 62 applications have <br />been reviewed. <br />In addition to increasing the efficiency of the review process, <br />the reimplementation of the Technical Review Committee system <br />has allowed each division to become more knowledgeable of the <br />37 <br />`I <br />
