Page 7 - Commissioner Bowman pointed out that under 4B., <br />Paragraph 1, the listed uses do not include Fish Farms. <br />Director Keating stated he personally would consider them <br />included under General Farming Activities, but this could be <br />added as a specific item. It was agreed Fish Farms should be <br />specifically mentioned. <br />Question arose about exotic animals, and it was felt this is <br />regulated by the state. <br />Page 8, 9, and 10 - no changes, and Commissioner Wodtke <br />ascertained that nothing on the table on Page 10 has been changed <br />from the current ordinance. <br />Page 11 - Commissioner Wodtke discussed 4.1C. Uses Requiring <br />Administrative Permits. He noted that the RFD District allows <br />only non-commercial stables, and, therefore, if you have horses <br />and are involved in doing anything other than keeping your own <br />horses, i.e., breeding or leasing out a stall, for instance, you <br />would have to have Agricultural zoning. He believed RFD is <br />actually a transitional area between Agricultural and Residential <br />and noted that he knows of several instances where people carry <br />on this type of activity on less than five acre parcels. <br />Commissioner Bird asked how this would affect such cases, <br />and whether it would make them non -conforming, and Attorney <br />Brandenburg stated they would be grandfathered in. He noted that <br />a non -conforming use can be sold, but it cannot be expanded. <br />Page 12 - Commissioner Bowman wished to know why Paragraph <br />2. Community Service Uses under Educational Facilities, excludes <br />Business, Secretarial & Vocational, and Director Keating stated <br />that it has been determined those are commercial uses as they are <br />typically facilities that are run on a profit-making basis as <br />opposed to general education facilities, which usually are <br />located in proximity to the residential areas they are serving. <br />Commissioner Bowman felt this then would exclude, for <br />example, Florida Institute of Technology, which is a private <br />21 <br />JAN 16 1985 BOOK 59 <br />
