-/bISCUSSION RE PURCHASE OF SOUTHERN BELL PROPERTY <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Wodtke, that the Board <br />authorize Commissioner Wodtke and staff to <br />negotiate for the purchase of the property as <br />discussed at yesterday's workshop meeting and <br />bring back to the Commission for approval. <br />Commissioner Wodtke believed that Commissioner Bowman wanted <br />a rigid structural inspection made of the building, <br />Administrator Wright felt that could be handled. <br />Commissioner Wodtke noted that on closing we will need a <br />termite inspection and a roof inspection. He reported that they <br />had met with the telephone company on Monday, but did not know at <br />this time how to finance it. <br />Administrator Wright commented that there is the possibility <br />of going to a bond issue to fund the purchase, but noted that we <br />also are in a position to refinance some of the outstanding bonds <br />at a lower rate of interest. He felt it would be proper to have <br />the Finance Advisory Committee come back with a recommendation <br />for the Board. <br />Commissioner Scurlock reported that the Committee had asked <br />various underwriters to come in and recommend several vehicles to <br />finance this purchase and they could come back in with this <br />information for the Board's consideration. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
