FEB6 1995 BooK 59 PnE 75.0 <br />2) A discussion re appointments to the Housing Finance <br />Authority. <br />3) Donation of right-of-way for the paving of Lindsey Road. <br />Attorney Brandenburg also requested the deferment of Item 10 <br />- Continuation of Discussion re Sea Oaks Hotel Site Plan <br />Application - to next week's meeting or perhaps the meeting of <br />February 20th. <br />Commissioner Scurlock requested the deletion from today's <br />Agenda of Items 8 - Request to appoint a representative to <br />present Beach Nourishment Project Funding Application to DER - <br />and Item 10 - Request from Sheriff to use Confiscated Drug Funds <br />to purchase a used wrecker. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously added, <br />deleted and deferred the above items in today's <br />Agenda. <br />VDISCUSSION RE NEWSPAPER ARTICLE ON PURCHASE OF CATRON PROPERTY <br />FOR NEW WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT <br />Commissioner Scurlock reported that he had read an item in <br />this morning's newspaper that possibly raised the matter of <br />impropriety on the selection of the Catron property for the new <br />County wastewater treatment plant. He expressed his anger over <br />the article and stated that Commissioner Wodtke had nothing <br />whatsoever to do with this selection, and, in fact, Commissioner <br />Wodtke and Commissioner Bird both questioned everything involved <br />in the selection of that property. <br />Commissioner Wodtke expressed his embarrassment over the <br />article and the reporter's statement that Mr. Catron was his <br />brother-in-law when Mr. Catron actually is his cousin. <br />Commissioner Wodtke stated that at no time did he ever discuss <br />the purchase of the Catron property with his cousin and noted <br />that, even though he has the apology of the reporter, it is very <br />hard to repair the damage done by that type of innuendo. <br />2 <br />
