FEB 2 0 1995 BOOK 50 fr,cF 964 <br />v DATA PROCESSING COMMITTEE REPORT <br />Administrator Wright reviewed the following memo, noting <br />that right now this committee is somewhat fragmented, and it was <br />the unanimous recommendation of the Constitutional Officers to <br />hire a consultant. <br />TO: The Honorable Members of DATE: February 13, 1985 FILE: <br />the Board of County Commissioners <br />SUBJECT: DATA PROCESSING <br />Committee Report <br />FROM: Michael Wright REFERENCES: <br />County Administrator <br />The Data Processing Committee unanimously recommended <br />the County Commission hire an outside consultant to objec- <br />tively analyze the data processing and micrographic needs <br />of the County. <br />At present, there are at least three separate "main <br />frame" computers, several "mini -computers" and three micro- <br />filming units being utilized by various Constitutional Offi- <br />cers. <br />Attached is a generalized scope of services to be used <br />in selecting a consultant. Please contact me if you have <br />any questions. <br />PROPOSED SCOPE OF SERVICES FOR <br />DATA PROCESSING CONSULTANT <br />A) Evaluate the effectiveness of the data processing and <br />micrographics functions serving the County's present <br />information processing needs. <br />B) Determine to the extent to which present equipment <br />and personal resources are utilized efficiently. <br />C) Identify the viable courses of action available to <br />the County for improving computer and micrographics <br />operations in the near future. <br />D) Establish the basis for developing a long-range plan <br />for data processing and micrographics. <br />OR <br />
