REFERENCES: Attachment -Lloyd & <br />Assistant U ility Director Associates Letter <br />DESCRIPTION: <br />The sewer meter measuring wastewater flow going into the City of <br />Vero Beach Treatment plant has never functioned properly and is <br />presently out of order. There has been numerous attempts to <br />make the existing Sonic meter operable and all have failed. <br />Since this is a concern of both the City of Vero Beach and <br />Indian River County, we have had Lloyd & Associates look at <br />alternative methods of metering the wastewater. <br />Our staff has received and concur with Lloyd & Associates <br />proposed solution of installing a Magnetic Meter. The cost of <br />the meter is estimated at $7,500.00 and the engineering is <br />$2,000.00. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />1. Approve Lloyd & Associates proposal for metering wastewater <br />going into City of Vero Beach Plant. <br />2. Disapprove Lloyd & Associates proposal for metering wastewater <br />going into the City of Vero Beach Treatment Plant. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />The Utilities Department recommends the Honorable Board of <br />County Commissioners approve Lloyd & Associates proposal for <br />metering wastewater going into the City of Vero Beach Treatment <br />Plant. <br />15 <br />80OK 60 PAH 191 <br />
