� r � <br />The Administrator stressed that we are at a critical point, <br />and we need six additional personnel, plus a nurse, to meet the <br />minimum needs. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />authorized the hiring of additional personnel <br />for the Jail staff, as requested by the Adminis- <br />trator. <br />Commissioner Bird wished to point out that six additional <br />people are needed to staff one post 24 hours a day. <br />General Services Director Dean felt the Board should be <br />aware that we still are not up to the complement the new Jail <br />will be requiring, and we soon will have to start hiring people <br />in order to train them and have them ready. <br />EXTENSION OF MEETING. <br />It was noted there still are quite a few agenda items to be <br />dealt with. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />agreed to extend the meeting until 1:00 P.M. <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING DER TO SUPPORT SR 60 PROJECT <br />Attorney Brandenburg explained that the proposed Resolution <br />is to ask the DER to cooperate with the County on the SR 60 <br />wastewater project. Our intent is to prevent a proliferation of <br />package plants, and in order to do so, we want the DER to go <br />along with permitting "dry line" systems until the County's <br />wastewater plan is completed. He reported that he has talked <br />with Mr. Alexander of the DER, who has indicated that his <br />department is conceptually in favor of this proposal, but said <br />87 <br />MAR 2 01985 BOOK 0 FACE 26� <br />
