Chairman Lyons inquired whether a private driveway can go <br />across the railroad tracks, and Administrator Wright stated that <br />to get an additional F.E.C. crossing is extremely difficult; if <br />the County can't get one, he felt it would be impossible for an <br />individual to do so. <br />Commissioner Bird believed what is proposed is consistent <br />with what the Vista Royale Association is requesting. The <br />property being considered is all west of the railroad right-of- <br />way, and he believed the area'of greatest concern to them is <br />between the railroad and U.S.1. He did hope that we can stay <br />ahead of that situation by working with the owners of that <br />property when it is developed to assure we don't have multiple <br />access to U.S.1. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone present wished to be heard. <br />There were none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />closed the public hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, to adopt Ordinance 85-28 <br />rezoning approximately 75 acres south of the South <br />Relief Canal, west of the F.E.C. Railroad , east of <br />Old Dixie and north of Oslo Road to C-2. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked whether any thought was given to <br />changing the C-1 zoning of the residential area which has quite a <br />few homes in it to a residential type zoning. <br />Planner Shearer explained that the reason they didn't do so <br />is that it is a relatively small area (about a block), and it <br />would be surrounded on all sides by commercial; there are <br />commercial establishments scattered among the residences; and in <br />addition, a number of the people are operating businesses out of <br />21 <br />APP 3 1985 BOOK U 0 P,,GE38 <br />
