APP 10 1985 <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Right of way maps are on file in the Office of the Board of <br />County Commissioners. <br />BOOK CO F'CE5l4 <br />1) Approval of the alignment and right-of-way maps <br />for the Southerly Extension of Indian River <br />Boulevard 8th St. and 12th St. since adherence <br />to the critical alignment objectives has been <br />accomplished. <br />2) Right -of -Way Acquisition to implement the <br />project be initiated. <br />Commissioner Scurlock noted there was great concern <br />about how close this road would come to existing buildings <br />along that particular stretch by Vista Gardens. <br />Director Davis explained that the closest the edge of <br />the pavement would come to any building would be <br />approximately 50-60 feet. He reported that he had attended <br />a general meeting of the property owners' association in <br />their clubhouse to explain the project and answer any of <br />their questions. The residents would like to have a fence <br />along their west property line along with some landscaping <br />between their project and the Boulevard. Director Davis <br />advised that it was staff's feeling that landscaping could <br />be installed east of the fence, pretty much on Vista's own <br />common properties, and that way they could select what they <br />would like and include that in their overall internal <br />landscaping. The residents also objected to a proposed hot <br />right, which is a deceleration right turn lane, to connect <br />U.S. #1 to the Boulevard. Staff has eliminated that concept <br />and instead placed a yield control there. <br />Commissioner Scurlock asked about the ingress and <br />egress to Indian River Boulevard, and Director Davis advised <br />that staff feels that the best situation is for a connection <br />to be provided to their access road through the old McKee <br />Jungle property onto the Boulevard where they could utilize <br />83 <br />
