MAY 11985 <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />BOOK 6O PAUGE 728 <br />WHEREAS, on June 29, 1925, after diligent work by the <br />people of this area, and by a Special Act of the Legislature, a <br />portion of St. Lucie County was officially proclaimed INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY; and <br />WHEREAS, it should be noted that the City of Vero <br />officially became known as the City of Vero Beach, and the county <br />seat of INDIAN RIVER COUNTY; and <br />WHEREAS, from the year 1903, a wooden railroad station <br />known as the Vero Beach Railroad Station, contributed to the <br />growth and prosperity of the 'area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Vero Beach Railroad Station, now owned by <br />the INDIAN RIVER COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, continues to play a <br />significant role in this growing community: <br />.h? <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF ,INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Florida, that in this <br />sixtieth year of existence of INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, the MONTH OF <br />JUNE be designated as a MONTH OF CEREMONIES AND CELEBRATION; and <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the 1st DAY OF JUNE, 1985 <br />be observed as the official BIRTHDAY of INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. <br />BOARD OUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIT*T�IV COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />DiErAdk B.
