he did not believe complaints of a nuisance nature carry the same <br />type of import they would have when Mr. Kahn moved in. He <br />strongly urged that the Commission adopt staffs' recommendation. <br />Attorney Block came before the Board representing Frank <br />Kahn, who lives in Village Green Phase III and is probably the <br />closest resident to the property in question. In regard to the <br />compliance of Village Green and whether they have sufficient <br />buffering not to cause a nuisance, he emphasized that we are <br />talking about a lawn maintenance business and sharpening blades <br />at 6:00 A.M. Attorney Block pointed out that when Mr. Kahn and <br />others moved in there, the lawn maintenance and many things that <br />cause the problem were not there. The storing of recreation <br />vehicles has been done illegally all these years, and the people <br />will just have to put them somewhere else. Attorney Block wanted <br />the Board to hear from Mr. Kahn himself the inadequacies of the <br />compliance. <br />Chairman Lyons noted, that in other words, Attorney Block <br />did not feel the rezoning should be granted. <br />Frank Kahn, of 7000 20th St., Lot 784, informed the Board <br />that the rear of his home, which is located south of the north <br />side of Walker Avenue, is 125' south of the ten acres known as <br />the compound. He then went on to present a resume of four years <br />of activity on the subject property, including contradictions of <br />false statements made at prior hearings. Mr. Kahn informed the <br />Board at length of his problems and of broken promises, stating <br />that before closing on their home, they visited it and objected <br />to the noisy activity on Walker Avenue back of their lot. On <br />their hesitation to close, they were assured that the supply shed <br />and activity would be moved to Phase IV upon completion of Phase <br />III and that the compound would be for storage of RV's and boats <br />only. Instead a maintenance compound was created and everything <br />was moved to this location. They were promised again in 1981 and <br />1982 that it would be moved to Phase IV.
