Proclamation honoring Bamma Lawson <br />The Chairman read aloud the following Proclamation honoring <br />Mrs. Bamma Lawson and announced that Commissioner Wodtke has <br />volunteered to deliver the Proclamation to Mrs. Lawson's family. <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, June 16, 1985 marks the earthly death of MRS. BAMMA <br />LAWSON; and <br />WHEREAS, June 22, 1985 Would have marked the 103rd birthday <br />of MRS. BAMMA LAWSON; and <br />WHEREAS, MRS. BAMMA LAWSON moved from Hahira, Georgia in <br />1906 to the City of Sebastian; and <br />WHEREAS, MRS. BAMMA LAWSON devoted her life to the <br />enrichment of the Sebastian community; and <br />WHEREAS, MRS. BAMMA LAWSON began the first open library in <br />Sebastian, making her home and books available to the local <br />children: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS' OF: INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, this 19th day of <br />June, 1985, that MRS.
