Cain Ux Et Al <br />955 Dahlia Lane <br />Vero Beach, Florida 32963 <br />WATERWAY & LOCATION: The project is located in Class II waters <br />of the Indian River on Jungle Trail in Section 25, Township 31 <br />f` South, Range 39 East, Indian River County, Florida. <br />The upland property associated with the project is located in <br />the Town of Indian River Shores. , <br />WORK & PURPOSE: The applicant proposes to construct a 40 slip <br />docking facility. The proposed work involves the construction <br />of an 808 -foot by 6 -foot pier placed parallel to and connected <br />to the shoreline by 4 walkways. At the southern end of the <br />pier, approximately 17_finger piers will be constructed. At <br />the northern end of the structure, two 28 -foot piers will <br />extend waterward each with a_"T" head of approximately 80 to 90 <br />feet in length. No dredging or filling will be performed. No <br />sewage pump -out or fueling._ facilities are proposed. The <br />purpose of the 'project is to &ovide docking facilities for a <br />private residential development. <br />DESCRIPTION & CONDITIONS: <br />The river bank presently contains a fringe of mangroves with <br />some eroded areas. The applicant will'provide erosion control <br />structures on the exposed areas as specified in the road -_ <br />relocation agreement with the County. <br />The project site is located in a designated critical habitat <br />for the West Indian (Florida) manatee. However, the Corps of <br />Engineers has determined that the proposed work will have no <br />effect on this species or its identified critical habitat. The <br />Corps is currently coordinating this determination with the <br />U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for their concurrence. Special <br />conditions for the protection of the manatee will be added to <br />the permit document if issued. = <br />On April 15, 1985 the Scenic Roads & Trails Committee unani- <br />mously agreed to offer no objection to the original D.E.R <br />application.
