These meetings are in Palatka. <br />Commissioner Bird confirmed that he and Director Thomas will <br />attend the September 10th meeting. <br />In continuing discussion, Mrs. Wilson brought up the matter <br />of keeping Fellsmere Grade open as an east -west corridor. She <br />wished to recommend that this matter be turned over to the <br />Transportation Planning Committee to make a further study with <br />the DOT and try to get this road on some type of prolonged plan. <br />Mrs. Wilson stated that she would like the structures that the <br />District is planning to put in out there to be done in such a way <br />that it will be possible to keep Fellsmere Grade open to traffic <br />without the necessity of having to rebuild. <br />Planner Challacombe felt another option is to have Fellsmere <br />Grade designated on the County Thoroughfare Plan as an east -west <br />corridor. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously agreed <br />to refer the matter of keeping Fellsmere Grade <br />open as an east -west corridor to the Transportation <br />Planning Committee to proceed as discussed. <br />Commissioner Bird left the Chambers temporarily at 10:40 <br />A. M. <br />DISCUSSION REGARDING SEBASTIAN INLET <br />Jack Forte of Melbourne, Florida, came before the Board to <br />discuss, as requested in his letter "Sebastian Inlet - A Paradise <br />in Trouble." Mr. Forte stated that he would like this <br />Commission to go along with Brevard County and support Senator <br />Deratany for local control of Sebastian Inlet. He also wished <br />the Commission to go on record re cleaning up the mess we have at <br />the inlet with the State wanting to fence the inlet in and charge <br />52 <br />
