M <br />Commissioner Scurlock wondered what effect the proposed <br />rezoning would have on 74th Avenue, which currently is a <br />substantial traffic problem. It is a primary access to roads to <br />the south and west, and it is frequented by large citrus trucks. <br />Chairman Lyons further pointed out that Walker Avenue, which <br />has access to Village Green, connects with 74th Avenue, and we <br />are going to have Indian River Estates with 350 units right next <br />to it. He agreed that we are lining up for some kind of a <br />traffic problem, and felt possibly the entrance to the Estates <br />should be changed. <br />Planning Director Keating believed that Indian River Estates <br />access will be off 74th Avenue, but noted that they are <br />dedicating a substantial amount of right-of-way; they will move <br />it so it lines up north and south and will pave it north of SR <br />60. <br />Commissioner Scurlock believed we will have to consider this <br />request the same as we did across the street even though the <br />rules have changed in the meantime, but even so, he felt we must <br />consider all these factors. He asked if this is the last <br />request for a neighborhood node under the old rules and was <br />assured that it was. <br />Commissioner Wodtke expressed concern about the truck <br />traffic on Ranch Road. <br />The Chairman asked if we are going to assign this traffic <br />problem to the Transportation Planning Committee or staff, and <br />Commissioner Scurlock believed staff will make an analysis to <br />the TPC and then it will come back to the Commission. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone present wished to be heard. <br />Attorney William Caldwell came before the Board representing <br />the applicant and noted that on June 5th, the Commission adopted <br />the new neighborhood node standards, at which time two petitions <br />were already in. In those discussions, he believed it was con- <br />cluded that the 2-8 acre node was something that could take place <br />on the four corners of an intersection and that the word <br />29 <br />BOOK ��FALE �7 <br />SEP ,, , <br />LZ1 � 195 <br />
