construction. According to the construction <br />schedule submitted by the developer on April 18, <br />1985, however, schematic plans for the hotel should <br />be completed by this time. The schedule also calls <br />for construction documents, bidding and award of <br />contract, permitting, and commencement of con- <br />struction for the villas to have been accomplished <br />by now. According to the schedule, the hotel <br />should be completed by September 1, 1987, and the <br />villas should be completed by September 1, 1986. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the Board of County Commissioners <br />accept this status report and find that a good faith effort <br />has been made to maintain construction on the subject proj- <br />ect. The staff further recommends that the Board order the <br />developer to comply with the following requirements. <br />° that the developer submit to the staff executed <br />developer's agreements relating to utility services <br />to the site by November 11, 1985; <br />° that the developer comply with all requirements and <br />obtain approval of the revised site plan by October <br />10, 1985 and - <br />0 that the developer comply with his proposed <br />construction schedule. <br />It is also recommended that the Board direct the staff to <br />continue monitoring progress on this project and provide the <br />Board with a status report on the project on January 11, <br />1986. <br />Director Keating summarized that this site plan, which is <br />located on the southwest quadrant of SR A -1-A and CR 510 on the <br />Barrier Island, was considered for termination, but it was <br />determined that it had commenced and that it was a valid site <br />plan. He then showed slides of construction taking place on one <br />of the villas which has progressed steadily and stated that staff <br />does feel the developer has maintained construction, but are <br />concerned that he continue to maintain his construction schedule <br />and would like to keep on monitoring it. <br />Commissioner Scurlock stated that this has been a really <br />difficult task and he has not been a particular believer in Mr. <br />Nutt and his good faith effort.
