SEP 1 1985 BOOK _. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt the Board is directing him to <br />work it out and discuss it with the other counties, while having <br />the latitude of bringing back whatever recommendation he feels <br />appropriate, knowing the Board's preferences in these matters. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. The Motion <br />was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />EXECUTION OF CONTRACT BETWEEN STATE OF FLORIDA AND INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY FOR MEDICAL EXAMINER FUNDS <br />Attorney Vitunac advised that this is a standard State <br />written contract for $10,000 in funds and is not contingent on <br />the County's contract with the Medical Examiner. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the execution of the State Contract with Indian River <br />County for Medical Examiner funds. <br />CONTRACT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK <br />UTILIZATION OF FmHA_COMMITMENT FUNDS FOR GIFFORD SEWER PROJECT <br />Commissioner Scurlock stressed that he wanted it made clear <br />that there is no final commitment on the part of the County until <br />such time as we can meet with the Gifford leaders to discuss the <br />issue. He did not want it to appear in the paper tomorrow that <br />we have already approved this and it is a "go" project. <br />Utilities Director Pinto explained that the FmHA <br />p brought to <br />our attention the fact that the County still had committed from <br />1973 some $10 -million of FmHA 40 -year loan money at 5% that was <br />only to be used for wastewater projects. At that time they asked <br />for some sort of report of action for which the money could be <br />utilized in Indian River County, and if it was not going to be <br />utilized, they would send it back to the U.S. Treasury to be <br />redistributed. From that report came the Letter of Intent for <br />the Gifford area, which is in front of the Board today, and we <br />79 <br />o r r <br />
