Wednesday, October 2, 1985 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, <br />October 2, 1985, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Patrick B. <br />Lyons, Chairman; Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Vice Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird; Margaret C. Bowman; and William C. Wodtke, Jr. Also <br />present were Michael J. Wright, County Administrator; L. S. <br />"Tommy" Thomas, Intergovernmental Relations Director; James <br />Wilson, Assistant County Attorney; Jeffrey K. Barton, OMB <br />Director; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Reverend Russell Burns, Westminster Presbyterian Church, <br />gave the invocation, and Chairman Lyons led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Commissioner Scurlock wished to add an award to the Employee <br />of the Quarter to today's agenda. <br />Assistant County Attorney Wilson requested that a discussion <br />of the Florida Indoor Clean Air Act be added to the agenda under <br />the Attorney's matters, and also that the contract between the <br />South County Fire District and the Medical Director be added. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously added <br />the items requested above to today's agenda. <br />EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER AWARD <br />Chairman Lyons expressed his pleasure in presenting the <br />Employee of the Quart.er Award to Kathy Strickland, who does such <br />a fine job for us in the Mail Room.
