Strategy <br />The general direction selected to accomplish incident objectives set by the IC. <br />Strike Team <br />A set number of resources of the same kind and type that have an established <br />minimum number of personnel. <br />Support Zone <br />The clean area outside of the Contamination Control Line. Equipment and <br />personnel are not expected to become contaminated in this area. Special protective <br />clothing is not required. This is the area where resources are assembled to support <br />the hazardous materials operation. <br />Supporting Technologies <br />Any technology that may be used to support the NIMS is included in this subsystem. <br />These technologies include orthophoto mapping, remote automatic weather <br />stations, infrared technology, and communications, among various others. <br />Task Force <br />Any combination of resources assembled to support a specific mission or <br />operational need. All resource elements within a Task Force must have common <br />communications and a designated leader. <br />Technical Assistance <br />Support provided to State, local, and tribal jurisdictions when they have the <br />resources but lack the complete knowledge and skills needed to perform a required <br />activity (such as mobile -home park design and hazardous material assessments). <br />Terrorism <br />Under the Homeland Security Act of 2002, terrorism is defined as activity that <br />involves an act dangerous to human life or potentially destructive of critical <br />infrastructure or key resources and is a violation of the criminal laws of the United <br />States or of any State or other subdivision of the United States in which it occurs <br />and is intended to intimidate or coerce the civilian population or influence a <br />government or affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, <br />assassination, or kidnapping. See Section 2 (15), Homeland Security Act of 2002, <br />Pub. L. 107-296, 116 Stat. 2135 (2002). <br />xxx <br />
